Drive to Fevik

We left the house just after 9. Logan asked how long it would take to get there. I said 4 hours and Greg said 3. He said I was crazy. I had actually rounded down in hope maybe we would make up time and/of if nothing else it would sound better.

We have two stops to make, one for gas and one at DHL to yes, ship more stuff home. We have picked up a few things here and there but also just want to lighten our loads now that we are done with the hiking portion of the trip.

Who will be right on the drive time? Probably both wrong and it will be longer.

As I mentioned we decided to take the tunnel rather than the ferry. We hadn’t really researched much about it. Turns out it’s the longest underwater tunnel in the world and was just completed in 2020. Also apparently there are 22 tolls as you use it so that’s cool.

14km long

The tunnel went down and then started coming back up. It’s crazy to think through what would happen in an emergency. There were probably 40 or more emergency doors but I’m not positive where they could possible lead to. Maybe the tunnel going the opposite direction? Or just a sidewalk to walk back to one of the openings?

Towards the middle there was a purple section. Greg is theorizing this is where the two TBM’s met from each side but since we have done zero research it’s probably made up crap.

Finally we are out, and straight into another tunnel.

This is not a quick trip as the roads are two lane. Thankfully the views are pretty.

We knew we needed to stop for gas. Turns out we stopped at the same exact stop we stopped at on our way here where Jason charged and we shopped for dinner.

Brooks double checking Greg has the right gas handle

I went in to grab breakfast for Greg. Might as well get a second breakfast for me. If only I knew what any of this was.

Pretty Church along the way.

Brooks drove the entire way which allowed Greg to catch up on emails and me to well, take pics along the way. Oh and for Greg and I to dream about where we would own a piece of land here on the water.

Despite having gotten snacks when we stopped for gas, it’s time to try to find someplace to grab lunch.
